There are literally hundreds of amazing local burger joints in NW Bergen county. Therefore, finding the best options in challenging. Many readers have shared their favorites, and I combined those with my choices to come up with a top 5 list of top burger eateries in the area.
The choices are based on a combination of flavor, portion size and presentation.
Here goes:
1)Stateline Diner -Mahwah, NJ
Great portion and price. The best turkey burgers around! * A big plus, they are open 24 hours!
2) Brothers BBQ- Ramsey, NJ
Located conveniently along Rt.17, Brothers BBQ has amazing smoked burgers with sauteed mushrooms. Of course they have a very extensive menu and great live music! Great date night spot!
3) Booyah- Mahwah, NJ
Located within the DoubleTree Hotel in Mahwah, Booyah is a great new location for dinner, drinks and live comedy! Another great date night spot! A little pricey but good portions. Try their Garden Burger, made with a fresh homemade veggie patty with arugula, tomato, red onion, and garlic aioli!
4) Steel Wheel Tavern- Ridgewood, NJ
What a fun place, great for families! Lots of live music as well!
Try their Black Bean and Quinoa Burgers! All burgers are served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle spear, and naked fries. What are naked fries? I guess you have to visit to find out!
5) Greek City- Ramsey, NJ
Bifteki Sparti a.k.a. Ground beef mixed with herbs and spices, is a must try!
While not quite a traditional "burger," I am partial to Greek food and the presentation is beautiful!
